Chinanews Finance, February 9 (Reporter Peng Dawei) The reporter learned from the German Bosch Group on the 9th that despite the many challenges brought about by the epidemic and the shortage of chip supply, thanks to the rapid recovery in the fields of automobiles, industrial technology and consumer goods, Bosch 2021. Sales in China hit a record high.
Headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany, the Bosch Group is a world-leading technology and service provider covering the fields of automotive and intelligent transportation technology, industrial technology, consumer goods, and energy and building technology. In 2020, the Bosch Group's sales in China surpassed Germany's for the first time.
Preliminary data show that in 2021, Bosch Group's sales in China will be about 128 billion yuan (about 16.7 billion euros), an increase of 9.1% over 2020. Bosch said in a press release on the same day that looking forward to the future, it is optimistic about the long-term and stable development of the Chinese economy, and will continue to deepen its local development and invest in key strategic areas to continue to grow together with the Chinese market. "Especially in the fields of new energy and smart travel, the Chinese market has a first-mover advantage and leads the development of the industry. Bosch will work with partners to develop innovative technologies and products to meet the growing needs of the local market."
From a global perspective, in 2021, the Bosch Group's sales will achieve higher-than-expected growth. According to preliminary data in the financial report, the Bosch Group's sales increased by 10% to 78.8 billion euros. After adjusting for currency effects, technology and services sales rose 11 percent. Group EBIT increased by more than 50 percent to 3.2 billion euros. The EBIT margin was around 4%, up from 2.8% in 2020.
Bosch expects global economic growth to be between 4% and 4.5% in 2022, and about 5.5% in 2021. Although many countries have made great strides in vaccination, Bosch expects the Covid-19 pandemic to continue to impose a heavy burden on society and the economy in 2022. In addition, the continuation of supply bottlenecks and rising prices of raw materials, intermediate products and transportation will also have a major impact on the global economy, and many industries will also be affected, especially the automotive industry. Significant increases in inflation across many industries and regions also make the outlook even more uncertain. On the premise of a stable business environment, the Bosch Group expects that sales will still increase in 2022 and that EBIT will be at least the same as the previous year. The goal remains to outperform the market and achieve strong growth in key business areas and geographies. (Finish)
