世界银行周四将南亚地区2024年的经济增长预期从之前的6.0%上调至6.4%，理由是印度国内需求强劲，斯里兰卡和巴基斯坦等受危机打击的国家复苏速度加快，尼泊尔和不丹也在旅游业带动下复苏。

　　世行将印度截至2025年3月的当前财年经济增长预期从4月份的6.6%上调至7%，得益于农业产出反弹和私人消费增加。

　　此次修正确认了南亚是世行监测的增长最快的新兴经济体地区。世行预计，在接下来的两年里，南亚经济将保持每年6.2%的强劲增长。

The World Bank on Thursday raised its 2024 growth forecast for South Asia to 6.4 percent from 6.0 percent previously, citing strong domestic demand in India, a faster recovery in crisis-hit countries such as Sri Lanka and Pakistan, and tourism-led recovery in Nepal and Bhutan.

The Bank raised India's economic growth forecast for the current fiscal year ending March 2025 to 7 percent from 6.6 percent in April, helped by a rebound in agricultural output and higher private consumption.

The revision identifies South Asia as the fastest-growing emerging economies region monitored by the Bank. The World Bank expects South Asia's economy to grow at a strong annual rate of 6.2 percent over the next two years.
